Black History Month Celebrations
Throughout October, we celebrated Black History Month in various ways.
Each year group worked on a fantastic collage project; the children recreated images of famous black figures and these have now been displayed around school. Please find the time to take a look at them – the work is truly incredible and the children should be very proud!
There were also lots of trips and visits that took place over the half term. Many classes visited Hackney Museum for a workshop based on music from Caribbean origins and they particularly looked at how this music affected the communities living in Hackney. Some classes also visited Sutton House to take part in a workshop about the Windrush Generation. It was a very interactive experience and the children thoroughly enjoyed dressing up and singing songs to retell the story.
