St John & St James’ are incredibly excited to roll out our use of Google Classrooms. All children have been issued with their individual log ons for their year groups and daily lessons and lesson resources will be posted here throughout the school closure periods.
In addition to daily Reading, Writing & Maths lessons, children will take part in a cycle of Science, Humanities, RE and Art lessons which will be rotated on a weekly basis.
Headteachers from across the Primary Advantage Federation were asked to create a policy that sets out the way in which our schools would approach online learning and face to face teaching should we be forced to close our doors to pupils for any reason.
The policy notes the approaches that we are taking to implement online learning provision alongside in school provision and have been carefully considered to ensure that all pupils in our school receive adequate levels of educational provisions whether they are working in school or remotely from their homes.

Teachers will meet with groups of children each afternoon from Monday to Thursday using Google Meets which can be accessed through your child’s Google Classroom account.
Some teachers may be making catch up phone calls home or individual 1:1 meetings with pupils in order to have more personalised conversations with children who may benefit from a more targeted conversation or interventions to support them during the school closure period.
Children will join together in a weekly celebration assembly to share their home learning achievements with their classmates.
