We are currently taking part in a very exciting plastic competition. The aim is to gather as much PP5 plastic as possible, and if we win, an outdoor bench will be made out of our recycled plastic!

Look out for plastics with the recycling symbol marked “5” or “5 PP” on them.
The Salvation Army on Mare Street will be running free school uniform repair and alteration workshops on 7th and 28th August, 10.00 – 12.30pm. The workshops will run on a first-come, first-served basis.

At SJSJ, we are committed to ensuring that every pupil has the best possible chance to achieve their full academic potential. Regular attendance and punctuality is a vital part of this, and as such, all pupils are expected to maintain an attendance rate of 95% or above.
Next week, temperatures are set to rise considerably; please ensure that all children come to school with a water bottle and a hat – there will be no need for jumpers and coats.
Sun cream must be applied before coming to school, we will not be able to assist with this during the day.
We would like to remind all families that a late collection charge of £5 for every 5 minutes will be applied if a child is not collected promptly at the end of the school day or from after-school clubs.
Please ensure that you are collecting your child on time to avoid any additional charges.
We also kindly ask that you check your ParentPay account regularly and clear any outstanding balances as soon as possible.

This week in our spiritual corner, we focused on making compliment cards for people that were special to us and those we felt needed more help in boosting their confidence.
Our word of the week was humility, and the children had to think of ways they had to show humility, with a focus on other people and people we find special to us.
We then had some reflection time and discussed what humility meant and how we can show humility in other areas of our lives. We then said a prayer asking God to help be more humble in our day and day lives.
