Miss Thomson is our Digital Leaders steering group lead. She will be working closely with our Digital Leaders over the coming months. Keep an eye out for updates of their work in the school newsletter and on the website.

What have the Digital Leaders been up to?

Throughout the Autumn term, the Digital Leaders focused on the importance of using technology safely. We thought about our top tips that we would give to anyone who felt unsafe online or were unsure about what to do. We also looked at the class floor books and discussed what we had been learning in our year group computing lessons. Looking at the links between units and learning about what is still to come.

In the spring term, the Digital leaders will be focusing on Safer Internet day.

This year’s theme is called: Inspiring change? Making a difference, managing influence and navigating change online. As a school we will be undertaking activities as a part of Safer Internet day and the digital leaders will be leading classroom discussions about what this means and what it looks like in practice. We will also be holding an assembly discussing even more about this and what we have done as a school.

In the summer term, our Digital Leaders have been playing an important role in supporting the use of technology across the school. They have been busy maintaining and auditing equipment, including iPads, laptops, and headphones, to help ensure everything is working smoothly and ready for learning.

As part of their role, the team has also been checking classrooms to see how technology is being used in a sustainable and responsible way. By helping to identify areas for improvement and sharing good practice, our Digital Leaders are making sure technology continues to enhance learning while being looked after carefully for the future.
