This week, we have welcomed back our Nursery and Reception classes, and what a pleasure they have been!
The children have all had a brilliant start to the new school year and are already incredibly settled.
We are all very excited to see what the year ahead brings for them.
Please can we remind all parents and carers that children should be dropped off at the school gates at 8.55am. No parents or carers should be coming into the school playground or building with their child/ren.
Teachers and support staff are generally not available in the mornings as they are settling the children and beginning daily interventions – should you need to speak with an adult, please go directly to the school office and Miss Nifa will be more than happy to assist you in arranging a suitable time.
Thank you for your continued support in ensuring that all children come into school in a calm manner and ready for a day of learning.
This year, we will be continuing to host our parent teacher coffee sessions. These are a great opportunity for you to catch up with your child’s class teacher about the learning taking place at school and to ask any questions that you may have. All coffee sessions in the Autumn term will be held in the afternoons at 2.45pm. Please see the dates below:

Jeans For Genes Day
On Friday 19th September we will be celebrating Genes for Jeans day.
You can participate by wearing jeans to school and making a donation of £1.00 to raise money for Genetic Disorders UK, which supports people affected by genetic conditions.
As part of our ongoing efforts to maintain a smart, inclusive and focused learning environment, we’d like to send a friendly reminder about the school uniform policy here at St John and St James.

We would like to remind all families that a late collection charge of £5 for every 5 minutes will be applied if a child is not collected promptly at the end of the school day or from after-school clubs.
Please ensure that you are collecting your child on time to avoid any additional charges.
We also kindly ask that you check your ParentPay account regularly and clear any outstanding balances as soon as possible.

Umut, Anoushka, Julia and Imogen are joining the race to help beat childhood cancer by taking part in RBC Race for the Kids for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
The money raised from RBC Race for the Kids will help build the Children’s Cancer Centre at GOSH. A world-class facility with children at its heart. A place where children have access to play and education alongside pioneering treatments. Where families can stay together through some of the hardest moments. Where access to outdoor space is a priority, and a focus on nutrition helps fuel recovery.
