We are pleased to let you know that school photos will be taken on Tuesday 4th November. The photographs will be taken by Carmel Jane Photography and will include:
Please ensure that all children come to school wearing their full school uniform, including their red jumpers.
Children in Years 4 and Year 5 should not wear their PE kit on this day, even if it is their usual PE day. Please ensure they come to school in full uniform instead.
We’d like to take a moment to wish the very best of luck to Anoushka, Imogen, Julia, Lucia and Umut, who are showing true community spirit and compassion by raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) as part of the RBC 5K Race for the Kids tomorrow.
As part of their fundraising efforts, they held a homemade cake sale ater school today and every slice bought helps raise vital funds for a truly special cause.
So far, they’ve raised almost £2000, which will go towards helping beat childhood cancer and support the creation of the new Children’s Cancer Centre at GOSH – a world-class facility with children and their families at its heart.
We are so proud of their dedication and generosity.
Hackney Council will be hosting a free children’s learn-to-cycle training this Saturday.
A huge thank you to all the parents and carers who supported last year’s Usborne Book Stalls! Thanks to your purchases, we hit our £600 sales target and earned an incredible £360 worth of free books for our school library and classrooms.
We’ll be aiming for the same success this year, helping to spread the love of books and reading to all our SJSJ children. Keep an eye out for our upcoming book stalls this term at Parent’s Evening and the Christmas Fair.

We’re putting together a group of singers for the Highbury and Islington Christmas Carols on Friday 19th December (time TBC, likely 3pm or later).
Last year we raised £704.21 in just 1.5 hours – let’s make the magic even bigger this year!

Christmas Raffle – Prize Donations Wanted!
We’re now collecting prizes for our Christmas Raffle – from generous gifts to little treats (perfect for creating our famous hampers).
Every penny raised will go towards the end of year school trips and new play equipment for the children.

Please can we remind all parents and carers that the school gate opens at 8.50am, ready for school to start promptly at 8.55am. We kindly ask that parents or carers do not come into the school playground or building with their child/ren.
Teachers and support staff are generally not available in the mornings as they are settling the children straight into assembly – should you need to speak with an adult, please go directly to the school office and Miss Nifa will be more than happy to assist you in arranging a suitable time.
Thank you for your continued support in ensuring that all children come into school in a calm manner and ready for a day of learning.
We would like to remind all families that a late collection charge of £5 for every 5 minutes will be applied if a child is not collected promptly at the end of the school day or from after-school clubs.
Please ensure that you are collecting your child on time to avoid any additional charges.
We also kindly ask that you check your ParentPay account regularly and clear any outstanding balances as soon as possible.
