Christmas Lunch
On Wednesday, all of the children came to school wearing festive clothes in preparation for the annual Christmas Lunch! They all thoroughly enjoyed this special occasion and the smiles on the children’s faces were a pleasure to see!
Thank you to Miss Nifa, Miss Khaleel and Miss Rees for decorating the hall so beautifully and for supporting with service and a special thank you to our catering team who left us all with full stomachs and happy memories. It was such a lovely way to bring the children together during this festive period. We would also like to thank the PTA for providing the Christmas crackers for the children to enjoy – they certainly went down a treat!

Christmas is coming!
Christmas is fast approaching and there are lots of festive activities coming up for the children in the next few weeks, such as:
Monday 18th December: Hobgoblin Panto for the whole school to enjoy
Tuesday 19th December: Santa visit for Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2
Tuesday 19th December: Christmas Disco for Years 3, 4, 5 and 6
Wednesday 20th December: Christmas Performance at church – all parents welcome.
KS2 Christmas Disco
On Tuesday 19th December, Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 will have their annual Christmas disco. All children are invited to wear their ‘party clothes’ for the afternoon but must come to school wearing their school uniform. Children will then have time to change after lunch before the big event!
Party bags, which will contain some snacks, can be purchased in advance at the school office. This cost 50p per child and all children who have purchased one will receive it as they arrive at the hall. This must be paid via the school office so that children are not carrying money around. Please can we ask for all payments to be made no later than Friday 15th December so we can ensure we have purchased the correct amount.
If you have any questions, please just come and ask!
We know the children are very much looking forward to it.
PTA Carol Singing
Please come and help us spread some Christmas cheer and raise money for the SJSJ PTA at our forthcoming carol singing fundraiser. We will be singing carols at Highbury and Islington Station on:
Date: Saturday 16th December

We will be on the concourse at the top of the steps leading to the Overground. We hope you can join us. You do not have to be a brilliant singer. Just bring your Christmas spirit! The more the merrier!
Please let us know if you are free to come along so we can keep you updated with the arrangements by emailing stjohnandstjamespta@gmail.com.

Year 1 Writing Sample
We have been working hard this week finalising our assessed writing pieces. Take a look at Caleb’s retelling of Femi the Fox and a Pot of Jollof.
One day, Femi the Fox wandered around the noisy market place and then he went to see Sola and then he said Sola I am so hungry! We need to go to the palace and see the Jollof rice and we need to steal it, Femi said.
Femi went to the kitchen and snuck inside. It was his favourite. Femi loved Jollof rice and it was there. He could not believe his eyes.
He stole the rice in a flash and zoomed off. In the corridor, he saw Prince Kayode so he dropped the rice in shock. The prince laughed. Femi, the food was for the animals! You needed ti wait. Go and make your own rice.
Femi went home. He was still hungry.
