What’s happening in Year 5 – Week 5

This week in year 5 we were looking at subordinating conjunctions in our grammar lesson. This was part of our writing cycle. Next week we will be looking to use our subordinating conjunctions in our writing to help us create a persuasive letter from Percy Jackson’s mum urging his school not to expel Percy from Yancy Academy. We used rainbow grammar to help us identify the subject, verb and main clause, as well as our subordinating conjunctions. The rainbow grammar helped us to rearrange our sentences, trying the subordinating conjunction in different places throughout  the sentence.
