02 May What’s happening in Year 6 – Week 2
This week, Year 6 had a fantastic science lesson, looking at inheritance. We explored what inheritance means, putting it in the context of how we look similar to some of our family members. We were able to define inheritance as the passing on of physical characteristics or traits from parents to offspring. To prove our understanding of this, we used Mr Men! We drew the offspring off two Mr Men characters, ensuring that the offspring looked like a mix of their two parents. Later on in the lesson, we sorted traits into inherited and environmental and were even able to explain the differences between these two terms. What amazing learning Year 6!
