What’s happening in Year 5 – Week 4

This week in Year 5, we’ve been diving into our science topic ‘Earth and Space’. The children have been learning all about the planets in our solar system and how they move, with a particular focus on the key vocabulary ‘orbiting’ and ‘rotating’.

Luca impressed us with a clear definition and a detailed diagram showing the solar system and how the planets travel in space.

We also used our understanding of these movements to explore the question: ‘Why does the Moon look different each day?’ Julia’s fantastic lunar cycle diagram helped us visualise how the Moon’s appearance changes over time.

It’s been a fascinating week full of curiosity and discovery!
