What’s happening in Year 6 – Week 5

This week, year 6 conducted an investigation in science, which focused on series circuits and how components would impact the brightness of a light bulb. The component they focused on was the batteries, which they added to the series circuit. The children found that a light bulb would get brighter with more batteries, however there was a limit to the amount of power a bulb could take, resulting to the light bulb getting dimmer or it completely stopped working. They found the voltage of 4 batteries was too powerful for the light bulb. They were super scientists this week and discussed how they could improve their investigation next time.
