14 Nov Spanish at SJSJ
Year 3 have been continuing to develop their Spanish vocabulary knowledge this term by learning and practising simple questions such as ¿Cómo te llamas? (What is your name?) and ¿Cómo estás? (How are you?).
They have also explored subject-specific vocabulary linked to emotions and feelings, enabling them to respond to these questions in different ways, for example: “Estoy feliz” (I am happy) or “Estoy cansado/a” (I am tired).
Through these activities, the children have been building their confidence in using Spanish for short, meaningful conversations with their partners. They have also been applying their phonics knowledge to improve pronunciation, focusing on speaking clearly and accurately.
By asking and answering familiar questions with their peers, the children have also had the opportunity to practise their listening and speaking skills in a fun and engaging way.
