21 Nov Values At SJSJ
The word of the week this week is…..
Patience
In Year 5 we are learning different ways we can incorporate this word into our day to day activities.
Year 5 has done some role play to show us how we can be patient with our peers.
Our Rights Respecting Schools Article 15 says, all children have the right to think and believe what they want and practise your religion, as long as you are not stopping others from enjoying their rights.
In these photos, the children are practicing patience and turn-taking during everyday classroom interactions. Whether waiting for a glue stick to become available or holding onto an idea while a peer is speaking, the children demonstrate growing self-regulation and respect for others. By waiting calmly for their turn, they are learning important social and emotional skills such as sharing, listening, and understanding that others’ needs and voices are just as important as their own. These moments highlight their developing ability to manage impulses, communicate thoughtfully, and participate positively in group activities.
Here are a few examples of the children demonstrating a clear understanding of patience.
