What’s happening in Year 4 – Week 5

This week in Year 4, we explored how to make a light bulb shine its brightest. We began by planning our investigation like real scientists, making predictions about what might happen when we changed different parts of an electrical circuit. Then we built our own circuits using wires, batteries and bulbs, ready to test out our ideas.

We experimented by adding and removing bulbs, as well as trying extra batteries to see how each change affected the brightness. Throughout the lesson, we observed closely, compared results and discussed what we discovered. By the end, we were able to explain what makes a bulb brighter—and we had lots of fun investigating along the way!
