20 Mar What’s happening in Year 4 – Week 4
In Year 4 this week, we went on an exciting visit to church to learn all about Holy Communion and the story of the Last Supper. As we stepped inside, we were amazed by the beautiful stained glass windows and the peaceful atmosphere. We explored what Holy Communion means to Christians and how it connects to the Last Supper, where Jesus shared bread and wine with his disciples. To make it even more fun, we played a game of eye spy, searching the church for special objects that reminded us of the Last Supper—like the altar, the chalice, and the bread. It felt like we were detectives, spotting clues and making links to the story!
Afterwards, we talked about how each person at the Last Supper might have felt. We imagined the emotions in the room—Jesus feeling calm yet serious, knowing what was coming, and the disciples feeling confused, surprised, or even worried. We shared our ideas and listened to each other, which made the story feel more real and meaningful. It was such an engaging experience, and we left the church with a deeper understanding of the Last Supper and why it is still important today.
