22 Mar Science Week
Last week was British Science Week and the children across SJSJ got their lab coats out to transform into mini scientists for the week!
Each class took part in a scientific enquiry, where they combined their knowledge from their current unit of work with the concept of time. The children were presented with a range of enquiry question, that required a variety of working scientifically skills, and worked through the process of conducting an enquiry; starting with making a prediction based on prior scientific knowledge, through to drawing conclusions based on their findings.
Throughout the week, the children displayed examples of their work on large boards, which we then shared with the rest of the school in a Science Fayre on Friday afternoon. Children from Key Stage 2 represented their class enquiry and delivered information to small groups of children – it was a wonderful afternoon packed with lots of scientific knowledge and fun!
With the Easter break quickly approaching, why not visit the British Science Week website and browse through some of the fun activities that you could run from home!
