What’s happening in Reception – Week 2

This week in Reception, the children have been enjoying the story Stanley’s Stick by John Hegley. The book has really inspired their imaginations and encouraged lots of creative play and learning across the classroom!

The children took part in a range of exciting activities linked to the story. They used sticks to catch and sort elastic bands, developing their fine motor skills and concentration. In the writing area, the children became authors themselves — using their imagination to create their own storybooks about taking their special stick on an adventure.
