20 Mar What’s happening in Reception – Week 4
This week, Reception’s favourite activity was matching the feathers to the correct colours as part of our fine motor skills focus. The children thoroughly enjoyed completing this activity and showed great concentration and enthusiasm.
Developing fine motor skills is an important part of early learning, helping to strengthen the muscles needed for writing and everyday tasks.
If you would like to support your child’s fine motor development at home, here are a few simple and fun ideas to try:
-Threading beads or pasta onto string
-Using tweezers to pick up small objects
– Cutting with child-safe scissors
– Playing with playdough
– Using clothes pegs for squeezing activities
