What’s happening in Year 1 – Week 3

On Monday afternoon, Year 1 visited Forest School at Springfield Community Primary School to complete their second outdoor-learning science lesson. The children built upon their prior knowledge of the 5 human senses by using them to explore an unfamiliar environment. Of course, they could touch, smell, hear and see a wide variety of things, including plants, trees, worms and birds – but there was absolutely no tasting involved. This led to a great conversation back at school about why the children couldn’t use their sense of taste in the outdoor environment!
