21 Nov What’s happening in Year 4 – Week 3
This week in Year 4, we explored the exciting world of electrical circuits and discovered how switches help control the flow of electricity. We began by revisiting the key components needed to make a complete circuit—batteries, bulbs, wires, and switches—and talked about how conductors and insulators work. This helped us choose the best materials for designing our own switches.
We then put our learning into action by creating working switches using paper, split pins, and paper clips. We tested them in simple circuits and were thrilled to see our bulbs light up when the circuit was complete—and switch off when we opened our circuits. This hands-on activity boosted our understanding of how circuits work while building our problem-solving skills and creativity.
