06 Feb What’s happening in Year 4 – Week 5
In writing today, Year 4 explored Arthur and the Golden Rope through drama and freeze frames. We re-read key pages from the story, focusing on the moment when the Big Wolf destroys the Great Fire and Arthur bravely decides to save his town, which will support the children when writing a diary entry from Arthur’s point of view. We then discussed what makes an effective freeze frame, thinking about how body language and facial expressions can show Arthur’s feelings of sadness and isolation when he is separated from everyone else and no one believes him. Finally, the children worked in groups to act out the scenes and create their own freeze frames, bringing the story to life through drama—have a look at their fantastic work below!
