18 Dec What’s happening in Year 5 – Week 7
This term, the children have been taking part in our Diverse Britain learning, where they explored the life and work of the author Malorie Blackman.
Malorie Blackman is a well-known British writer who has written many popular children’s and young adult books. The children learnt about her background, her achievements, and why her work is important. They discussed how her stories often explore themes such as friendship, fairness, equality, and understanding others.
As part of this learning, the children worked together to create a presentation about Malorie Blackman. They researched key facts, shared ideas as a group, and decided how to present their information clearly. The children then made their presentation to display on the class board, using writing, pictures, and creative designs to show what they had learnt.
This activity helped the children to:
- Learn about an important figure in British culture
- Develop research and teamwork skills
- Practice presenting information clearly
- Build confidence in sharing their learning with others
The children showed great enthusiasm and pride in their work, and their presentations reflect the effort they put into learning about Malorie Blackman and her contributions.
Thank you for your continued support.
