What’s happening in Year 6 – Week 1

This week, Year 6 began their new Science topic, Light. To launch the unit, the children reflected on what they already knew from previous learning and shared examples from their own experiences. They explored what makes a light source and why it is so significant in helping us see and understand the world around us. The class identified different ways light is used in the local area and discussed careers that rely on light in various forms. They also investigated the direction in which light travels and how reflections can illuminate larger spaces. There is so much more to discover about light, and our curious Year 6 scientists are eager to continue exploring how it shapes our daily lives.
