13 Jun What’s happening in Year 6 – Week 2
This week in Science, Year 6 got the opportunity to get outside the classroom and observe our wonderful array of flora within the school grounds! Our new unit is Living Things and Their Habitats, where we are exploring how traits and characteristics can help to classify living things. We each chose two plants from our school grounds and completed careful observational drawings before labelling the plant parts, features and conditions for growth. We then used our observations to help generate dichotomous questions to help sort selected plants using a dichotomous key. Outstanding learning from year 6, and, as you can see, outstanding outcomes!
This has tied in beautifully with Green Week, where Year 6 have enjoyed learning about how we can look after our beautiful world.
