13 Mar What’s happening in Year 6 – Week 3
This week in Science, our Year 6 children explored how different substances can affect the human body. As part of their learning, they researched the effects of alcohol, caffeine, medicinal drugs and other drugs on the body and discussed how these substances can influence both physical and mental health.
Working in groups, the children gathered information, discussed their ideas and shared their understanding with one another. They then created informative posters explaining how these substances can affect different parts of the body, including the brain, heart and nervous system, and why it is important to make safe and responsible choices.
It was wonderful to see the children engaging in thoughtful discussions, asking insightful questions and using their scientific knowledge to communicate important health messages. Their posters were both creative and informative, showing a strong understanding of how our bodies work and how our choices can impact our wellbeing.
