01 May What’s happening in Year 4 – Week 3
This week in Year 4, we had an exciting and memorable trip to Benjamin Franklin House, where we brought our learning about electricity to life. During our visit, we explored how people in the Georgian period believed electricity was a liquid that could flow between objects. We then discovered how Benjamin Franklin helped change this idea by proving that electricity is a form of energy. We watched fascinating demonstrations that showed how electrical charges move and react, helping us to clearly link our classroom learning to real scientific discoveries.
We also met “Polly,” who shared stories about Benjamin Franklin’s daily life and his many jobs, including being a writer, inventor, and scientist. We especially enjoyed learning about his unusual habit of taking “air baths” to stay healthy! We loved stepping back in time and experiencing history in such an engaging way, and the trip helped us deepen our understanding while making our learning fun, exciting, and memorable.
