What’s happening in Year 1 – Week 3

This week in Year 1 our highlight was visiting a Synagogue. We have been learning about Judaism in RE over this half term and were excited to learn more! We saw all the special places in the Synagogue and recognised the different symbols like the Star of David which are important to the Jewish faith. We learned about the way that Shabbat is celebrated at the Synagogue and at home and were even able to sample some challah bread and grape juice. We especially loved getting to be close to the Torah and seeing how precious it is.
