What’s happening in Year 1 – Week 6

This week in Year 1 our highlight has been discovering the ending of our core text ‘Between Tick and Tock’ by Ashling Lindsay. As we have worked through this text we have been trying to decide what we believe about the motivations of the main character Liesel. She freezes the city and makes changes while everyone is frozen. We debated whether Liesel is a hero or a villain in the story and used evidence from the text to support our opinions. In our planning stage we drew pictures of the evidence we had about Liesel. We used these planning sheets to write our longer pieces about this clever magic girl.
