What’s happening in Year 4 – Week 2

A group of Year 4 and year 5 students have been taking part in a project run by Earthwatch education. They have been learning all about STEM jobs and what skills are needed to be developed to get into these industries. They heard from a variety of different STEM ambassadors who spoke about their roles and why they do what they do. They then undertook a workshop, alongside children from Our Lady’s Secondary school to work together and carry out different scientific experiments. They looked at soil compaction and how this affects flooding as well as undertaking some water testing, thinking about what chemicals can be found in different water sources.
