What’s happening in Year 5 – Week 3

This week in Year 5, as part of British Science Week, we carried out an enquiry, “What is the greenhouse effect and what affect does it have on our planet?”

To do this, we set up several jugs with different substances and gases inside. We then covered them in cling film and heated them up to see what reaction would take place. We discovered that the covered jars had a bigger reaction. Our conclusion was that the greenhouse effect is trapping the heat in our atmosphere, causing our planet to heat up and causing global warming.
