This half term in RE, Year 6 are continuing to learn about Christianity, focusing on the key question: How has the Christian message survived for 2000 years?
In today’s lesson, the children began to unpick texts from Acts 1 and 2 in the bible, which spoke primarily about the events leading up to the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the celebration of the Day of Pentecost. After thinking carefully about different themes that presented themselves through the biblical texts, the children then went on to work in pairs to analyse a range of artwork. They were looking specifically at ways in which the Pentecost had been depicted in the art and how they showed a Christian message that was accessible for people of all nations.
