24 May What’s happening in Year 6 – Week 6
This week, Year 6 have been taking part in a variety of art-based activities to prepare some artwork to be displayed at this year’s Primary Advantage Art Exhibition. The theme of this year’s exhibition is voice. This has been carefully considered in both projects completed by the Year 6’s.
In their first piece of artwork, the children looked at the unique identity of their voices and the sound waves that are created by them. They recorded a short message about themselves and then used water colours to design a background around the sound waves created by their messages; each design is unique and intended to represent the children as an individual.
In their second piece of artwork, the children thought carefully about their most comfortable place in school; the place that makes them feel most at home. Some opted for the school office because it is warm and welcoming; others opted for the playground because this is where they have lots of fun. The children then used their observational drawing skills to bring these places to life.
Look out for more details about when and where the Primary Advantage Art Exhibition is set to take place next half term!
