17 Apr What’s happening in Year 6 – Week 1
This week, Year 6 children have been applying their Geography learning through an exciting fieldwork study linked to their unit on how human activity affects the environment. After revisiting key geographical themes and vocabulary, they used digital mapping tools to plan a route around the local area, identify landmarks, and practise grid references. During their fieldwork, children observed human and physical features, collected data using surveys and tallies, and spoke to members of the public about how they travel and care for the environment. Back in the classroom, they presented their findings through maps and charts, helping them to understand how our local area contributes to sustainability and how this links to wider global issues, including the impact on polar regions.
