05 Jun What’s happening in Year 4 – Week 1
This week in Year 4, we continued our learning about Christianity by exploring the question, “Why is liturgy important to many Christians?” We enjoyed investigating special items used during the Eucharist service, such as the chalice, paten and altar bell. Through discussion and partner work, we considered how these objects connect to the life of Jesus and why they are important to many Christians in helping them express and strengthen their faith.
We also explored the different stages of the Eucharist service, working together to place them in the correct order using our prior knowledge and visual prompts. We shared our thoughts about which parts of the service we found most meaningful and listened carefully to the opinions of others. It was wonderful to see everyone contributing thoughtfully to discussions and developing a deeper understanding of Christian worship.
