What’s happening in Year 1 – Week 1

This week in PSHE, Year 1 began their new unit on ‘Changing Me & Emotions’. The children started the lesson by recapping their knowledge of life cycles, focusing on the life cycle of a caterpillar, which they learned in Reception. They then used this knowledge to explore the life cycles of other animals, like frogs, cats and dogs, before thinking about the life cycle of humans. Children also explored some of the personal physical changes that they have experienced as they have grown from babies to children, for example getting taller in height and hands and feet getting bigger.
