Hackney Hispanic Week 2021

05 Jul Hackney Hispanic Week 2021

This week, the children have been celebrating Hackney Hispanic week by taking part in some cooking activities and exploring some of traditions that underpin Spanish culture.

Classes were split into small groups and worked in pairs to create their very own tapas-style starter, pan con tomate.

The children had to work together to grate the flesh of a fresh tomato, chop some delicious chives and combine them with a hint of garlic to create a very tasty topping for their grill slices of bread.

“I was really careful when using the grater to create fresh tomato juice and I had lots of fun with my friends.” – Jonah, Year 1

“I enjoyed helping the younger children to create the Spanish dish, and it was also    delicious!” – Eloise, Year 6
