16 Sep Roald Dahl Day
This week we have celebrated Roald Dahl Day! We have discussed the life of this spectacular author and his inspiration behind some of our favourite stories. Our Year 3, 4 and 5 children are reading Roald Dahl’s books in their reading lessons and Miss Paul’s reading group were particularly engrossed in Matilda.
Imogen and Amayah in Year 3 are Roald Dahl obsessed! The girls spent their lunchtime on Roald Dahl day writing book reviews, so that other children could read them and share their love for Roald Dahl. They have got copies of our brand new BFG books and are going to read these ones this month. Well done girls, we love how much you are sharing your love for Roald Dahl with others and how much you love his books.
Here’s what Lila in Year 4 had to say about Roald Dahl’s famous book!
“I love the way Roald Dahl writes because he makes me laugh out loud. He started this book by using funny names for children. He calls them “little scabs” and “disgusting little blisters.” I can’t wait to keep reading and discover the character of Miss Trunchbull, because I know she is quite scary!”
We know Lila and her class, as well as all the children reading Roald Dahl books, are going to absolutely love the stories they are reading. Please encourage your child to come and write a book review in the library when they have finished reading one of Roald Dahl’s books for other children to read and share in the magic of this author’s fantastic stories.
