20 May What’s been happening in Year 6 – Week 5
In writing this week, Year 6 discussed the power of proofreading your work to ensure that your reader can fully understand the creativity and ideas behind a piece of writing. They discussed that we might proof read work for accurate punctuation, to check if it makes sense, to find opportunities to uplevel and to ensure the right meaning is conveyed to the reader. We worked with partners in class to do this effectively, reading each other’s work out loud and listening to suggestions made by our partners. The class worked so well together in finding opportunities to improve their partner’s work and used their oracy skills to confidently provide meaningful and constructive feedback. Take a look at the children working brilliantly together!
Year 6 were fortunate enough to go to the National Gallery on Thursday to participate in a workshop which looked at materials used to create art pieces. They found out that the National Gallery is over 200 years old and interestingly enough, owned by us all!
