What’s happening in Reception – Week 2

Last Friday afternoon, Reception visited Hackney School of Food for a sensory experience in their beautiful garden! The children were split into small groups and had the opportunity to take part in a carousel of fun and engaging activities, including a flower treasure hunt, exploring a greenhouse, planting some turnip seeds and using their senses to get to know some fresh herbs. Outdoor learning is so important for helping to support children’s understanding of the world around them, so not only did the children love being outdoors, but they also took lots away from their experiences.
