21 Jun What’s happening in Reception – Week 3
This week in Reception we have been all about chicks! Our 10 eggs arrived on Monday. We learned about how the incubator kept them warm and moist and kept looking for the signs of hatching. By Tuesday we were seeing tiny pip holes and by the end of Wednesday all 10 had hatched. We kept count over that time by using our numberbonds to 10 ( We have 7 hatched and 3 more in eggs. 3 and 7 is 10!).
We learned all about how to care for our lovely chicks and what they need to be healthy. We enjoyed watching how they interact with each other and noticing how many are girls and how many are boys. Next week we can hold them! All the other classes were able to visit the chicks and will have chances to hold the chicks too. A special thank you to the PTA for making this amazing experience possible!
