What’s happening in Reception – Week 6

This week in Reception, the children have been reading Astro Girl by Ken Wilson-Max. The story is all about a little girl who loves space and wants to be an astronaut when she grows up – just like her mummy! It sparked lots of thoughts about the journeys that the children would like to go on and the type of job they would like to do when they are older.

The children used the small world area to go on their very own journeys to space – thinking carefully about what life would be like in a place with zero-gravity. Reception also had a very special delivery of moon dust to the classroom! They loved using it to make different marks and shapes in, using a range of tools like sticks, rollers and cutters.
