What’s happening in Year 1 – Week 2

This week in Year 1, our highlight was going on our first ever Geography Field work trip. We have been learning about the features of cities and how land usage is different in cities and the countryside. We learned that there are a range of different ways that cities use land and wanted to know how our local area uses land. On our walk we used tally marks to record the housing, shopping, parking and transport that we encountered. Some of us also challenged ourselves to tally the number of banks, churchs, schools and more that we encountered. We were surprised how many shops there were and how housing seemed to be everywhere.
