What’s happening in Year 1 – Week 5

This week, Year 1’s highlight was visiting Hackney Museum. For many of us, it was the first time we had ever been to this special museum. We connected our learning from History about our local history and our part as people in Hackney. We enjoyed learning about the rich heritage of Carnival in Hackney and how it is celebrated. We were able to see beautiful Carnival costumes, learn how they were made and even design our own costumes. We particularly enjoyed playing the steel drums and dancing to music with our flags.
