16 May What’s happening in Year 3 – Week 4
This week in Year 3, we were able to plant some flowering bulbs and a flowering plant, as part of our science lesson. The children discussed the steps needed to plant a bulb and explained what was necessary to take care of the bulb to ensure it grew into a healthy plant. They were excited to share what types of jobs involved caring for plants and why it is so important to look after living plants around us. We have learnt that flowers give nectar and pollen to bees, butterflies, and other insects. These little creatures help plants grow by spreading pollen from one flower to another. Therefore, we need to look after the plants to ensure other healthy plants grow.
