What’s happening in Year 5 – Week 1

This week in Year 5, we have been working towards writing a recount of an action scene based on chapter 4 of Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. In our immersion lesson we focused on how we can create tension in our writing by using empty words, powerful adjectives, short, snappy sentences and 5 sense descriptions. In grammar, we have been learning about fronted adverbials and will use them in our writing to tell us where, when and how something happened.
