What’s happening in Year 6 – Week 3

This week, Year 6 had the privilege of visiting the Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple to complement their RE unit. We had an excellent time exploring the temple, participating in a very interesting tour and learning all about the Buddhist origins and teachings. Some children got the opportunity to greet the Buddha before entering and make a wish. We observed a Buddhist Nun taking part in their daily ritual and explored the 5 key principles of Buddhism. Afterwards, we had the opportunity to take part in a mindfulness activity: Chinese Calligraphy! The children got to keep their hard work and had a great time throughout the day. Well done Year 6 for your exemplary behaviour at the Temple.
