What’s happening in Year 6 – Week 3

This week, Year 6 visited Hackney Museum to take part in a workshop, linked to their learning in history. The children were split into groups and had the opportunity to view and discuss lots of primary sources, which gave them information about what Hackney looked liked during the period of World War 2. They then explored 4 different suitcases that were dotted around the museum. Each suitcase told its own story of an individual that had come to Hackney during the wartime period. The children were able to reflect on their prior knowledge and learnt loads about how important our local area was for some people during the war.
