02 Feb What’s happening in Year 6 – Week 4
As part of their science unit on Animals Including Humans, Year 6 have been learning all about the circulatory system and how the heart and brain work together to keep our bodies functioning.
After learning about the function and importance of veins and arteries, the children worked in small groups to create their very own model hearts. Using all recyclable or reusable materials, the children created a system that allowed them to see how the veins and arteries work together to keep blood pumping around the human bodies.
They can now draw upon this knowledge and think about how the heart is working when we conduct our scientific enquiry over the next few lessons.
