This week in RE, Year 6 have been preparing for a debate, linked to our learning on Christianity this half term.
In pairs, the children carried out some independent research and created arguments in proposition (for) and opposition (against) the debating statement:
‘Does Christianity highlight the importance of living in a community?’
To strengthen their initial thoughts, the children explored some of the monastic traditions of the Church of England and reflected on what it means to be part of a C of E school community. They also considered the teachings of other world faiths, such as Buddhism and Sikhism, and used their prior knowledge to make comparisons regarding the importance of community.
