08 Jul What’s happening in Year 6 – Week 5
Year 6 have had the most wonderful week away in Kent at Kench Hill. They have been doing all sorts of amazing activities such as orienteering, bread marking, archery, making art out of nature and gardening.
They also got to walk the ponies and went to visit the local horses! We were really impressed with the class when they went on a three hour trek and waded through the river – a couple got wet! In these pictures you can see them making their own shelters, which were supposed to be waterproof and able to fit all of their team members. We then tested them by pouring water over them.
Let’s just say we quickly found out if they were waterproof or not! You can also see the boys enjoying their dinner outside; we were so lucky with the weather that we got to eat alfresco each day! What has really impressed us however is the Year 6’s maturity and engagement throughout the week. Each morning they made sure their rooms were clean and tidy, they followed instructions, they helped and supported each other and most importantly, looked after each other.
We could not be prouder of them and what a great week we all had!
